Ruksana has been writing for more than 14 years about everything from food and travel to social media and community leaders. Her experiences have her travelling all around covering local events and connecting with people from varied walks of life. She also travels nationally and internationally for stories, and chronicles her adventures on her travel site launched in 2014. Ruksana was a finalist for the Atlanta Press Club 2012 Award of Excellence in Print Journalism and a Thread at Yale 2015 candidate. She is also a 2015 SPJ EIJ Dori Maynard Diversity Leadership Fellow.

Ruksana also writes for custom publishing companies and provides writing services such as website content and newsletter copy to local and national businesses. She is experienced in crafting long form features and shorter blog post style stories with equal finesse. Ruksana also copy edits and proofreads books, and provides ghostwriting services. She is a contributor to several print and online media and made her radio debut in 2013 as a guest on Atlanta's Business RadioX.
Originally from India, and raised in Oman, Ruksana holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and studies French at the Alliance Francaise in Atlanta. She has also completed certification courses at Emory University in Freelance Writing and Proofreading & Copy Editing. Before her relocation to the United States, Ruksana worked several years in corporate communications, editorial and content management. She is based in Los Angeles, CA and has previously lived in Atlanta,GA.
