All writers interested in projects in the Basic Marketplace are assigned star levels based on hand-review of their experience and samples, ongoing performance in the platform and customer reviews. The higher your star level, the more you're paid for writing projects ranging from 1.4 to 7+ cents per word. Writers in our Pro Marketplace do not showcase star levels. Instead, they negotiate a price leveraging their certifications, awards and verified pay rates.
All of our freelancers are hand-reviewed, tested and initially star rated. We invite only the best of the best. Our algorithm then kicks in to adjust star ratings based on customer reviews and performance. Smart stuff.
Our performance algorithm tracks lots of data points for each order you write. Customer reviews have the biggest "weight" for improving star ratings, so making your clients happy will help you rise to the top.
Dropped orders and unhappy customers will count against you. Our algorithm combined with scoring surfaces the bad apples, backed with performance reports, editor ratings and customer reviews.
When you hit star rating thresholds, we review your performance, work and communication. You'll get a new star, or lose one, based on data and feedback.
You deserve better pay when you create content backed by years of experience and fine-tuned ability. And our star rating system ensures it. The higher your star rating, the higher rate per word you can expect, all backed by our algorithm that removes the guesswork.
