Amy is a proud single mom of two boys, one in middle school and one in college. The family all lives in a house together and believes that laughter helps them get through just about anything. Amy is very close with her boys and family traditions are most important in their household, especially at holiday times! Amy really enjoys writing about family experiences and topics.
Amy's career has also been all about children, as she has more than twenty years in the field of education. With more than nine years of teaching experience and 11 years of administrative experience, Amy has served at the local school level, central office district level, and state department level. During her administrative time, she served as an assistant principal, principal, literacy specialist, as well as a director for two departments at the Mississippi State Department of Education: Division of Reading, Early Childhood, and Language Arts; and the Division of Educator Misconduct within the Office of Educator Quality.
