Jim has written for as long as he can remember, starting off with a lot of short stories and poems, some essays as he grew more opinionated and informed.
As his interest in writing increased, he began to seek writing opportunities, guest blogging at times and eventually starting his own humor column. At one point, Jim was featured as an original member of The NetWits, at the time an assembly of the internet's funniest and most sought after humor writers.
He has worked as a freelance writer for NewEnglandFilm.com and wrote a few stories for the Clovis News-Journal, where he was courted for a reporting gig. Additionally, Jim has received education from the Poynter Institutes NewsU online courses and has taken university level non-fiction course work via University of Wisconsin-Madison and Colby College (a course led by award winning Tilar Mazzeo).
Recognizing his strengths, talents and vocational preferences, Jim now pursues writing and editing projects. He is a solid researcher and maintains an interest in multiple subjects.
Researcher/research writer; entertainment pieces, including interviews; creative writer, both fiction and non-fiction.
Jim enjoys writing, photography and audio book narration. Additionally, he is interested in hiking, road trips, healthy eating, movies, books and spiritual subjects. These interests play a major role in his ability to write well, especially about these subjects.
