Jim has written for as long as he can remember, starting off with a lot of short stories and poems, some essays as he grew more opinionated and informed.

As his interest in writing increased, he began to seek writing opportunities, guest blogging at times and eventually starting his own humor column. At one point, Jim was featured as an original member of The NetWits, at the time an assembly of the internet's funniest and most sought after humor writers.

He has worked as a freelance writer for and wrote a few stories for the Clovis News-Journal, where he was courted for a reporting gig. Additionally, Jim has received education from the Poynter Institutes NewsU online courses and has taken university level non-fiction course work via University of Wisconsin-Madison and Colby College (a course led by award winning Tilar Mazzeo).

Recognizing his strengths, talents and vocational preferences, Jim now pursues writing and editing projects. He is a solid researcher and maintains an interest in multiple subjects.

Jim successfully maintained a humor column (formerly Verona's Basement) for several years and was selected as a charter member of The NetWits, an assembly of online humorists. In that time, he received dozens of hits a day to his website and received positive feedback from fans and fellow 'Wits.


Jim is an avid reader and writer of spiritual subjects. He has completed numerous essays, some of which have been guest featured on blogs. Additionally, Jim has taken several theology courses and is pursuing certificates in various spiritual subjects.


In addition to numerous personal essays related to the entertainment industry, Jim was assigned articles to write for the website. He successfully created interviews and features for the website, which focused on film making in the New England area.
