Julius S. is a graduate of the University of Chicago, the University of Cambridge, and La Schola Cantorum de Paris. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and as Student Marshal of the University of Chicago in Romance Languages and Literatures. His studies encompassed literature (especially French and Spanish literature), music, and history. Julius has lived in Spain, France, and England. He learned Spanish and French both from a very early age and is truly bilingual. Julius has for several years been a class instructor and private tutor of the English language, in addition to his work as a translator/interpreter.

Julius is bilingual in Spanish and English, having lived alternately in the USA and Spain throughout his whole life. He has translated texts for the University of Chicago Motet Choir, the Brass Academy Alicante, and trumpeter Pacho Flores, a Deutsche Grammophon recording artist. Additionally, Julius has served as an interpreter for several international music festivals and is the interpreter for international masterclasses at the Brass Academy Alicante, one of Europe's premier private music schools. He began this work when he translated the musical texts, liner notes, and publicity materials for the University of Chicago Motet Choir's series of Hispanic music concerts. At the Brass Academy Alicante, Julius translates masterclasses English to Spanish and Spanish to English, in order to connect students and teaching artists across the language barrier. He currently is the personal translator of Pacho Flores, a Deutsche Grammophon Recording Artist, and his translations of liner notes and onstage remarks will accompany Pacho to several continents in the next year.
