Julius S. has years of experience translating texts for musical productions. He began this work when he translated the musical texts, liner notes, and publicity materials for the University of Chicago Motet Choir's series of Hispanic music concerts. He has continued working as a translator and interpreter at several international music festivals and at the Brass Academy Alicante, where he translates English to Spanish and Spanish to English, in order to connect students and teaching artists across the language barrier. Julius is the personal translator of Pacho Flores, a Deutsche Grammophon recording artist. He translates Pacho's program notes and onstage remarks before Pacho embarks on international tours to non-Spanish-speaking destinations. This year, his translations will accompany Pacho to Japan and Norway as well as other destinations in Europe, East Asia, and North America.
