Amanda began studying French in primary school, and continued to study formally until she earned her BA in Creative Writing. Independently, Amanda continued her studies in French as a member of her city's French Alliance and a volunteer foreign language penpal. She works on a freelance basis to translate materials to and from French, translating everything from 140-character tweets to 30-page dissertations.
