In 1983, at the age of 24, Lars came to Brazil in his endeavor to see the world while deciding on what professional paths to follow. This led him to language teaching, mainly English but also Swedish, in language schools and many domestic and international companies. This in turn led him into translating in the late 1980s and he has been a fulltime freelance translator since the mid 90s, specializing in marketing, IT and technical as well as literary and subtitling of films and television.

Lars has performed a large number of translation in the manufacturing business, including user manuals and machine descriptions of food packaging conveyor machines for the British agencies UK Techtrans and Tonguetied Ltd, for their client Kliklok, in total some 300k words.

Lars has been doing work as a subtitler and script writer for American agency Feature Films, as well as for some of Brazil´s largest agencies in the field. The work has included translation of films, documentaries, TV-programs and stand-up comedy performances.
