Andrew has extensive experience translating Portuguese into English and English into Portuguese. He learned Portuguese through DuoLingo Immersion, a program that teaches languages by having participants translate documents from their target language into their native language. Andrew achieved Level 25 proficiency, the highest level on DuoLingo. He later spent two months in Portugal, living with his relatives and other native speakers and practicing the language on a daily basis. He has also spent time with relatives in Brazil.

Andrew began learning Spanish in high school, and followed up on this with classes at the university level. He has also translated documents from Spanish into English on DuoLingo Impressions. Andrew keeps his skills sharp by regularly reading articles and listening to music in Spanish. He has also spent time in Nicaragua, Spain, and Argentina, where he conversed with the locals.

Andrew is currently working as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at a secondary school in rural Malaysia. Most of his students have limited English skills, requiring him to communicate classroom instructions in Malay. His Malay skills have grown stronger over time, allowing him to more easily switch between the two languages when necessary.
