After Iara received her doctorate in genetics in 2000, she started translation work for a publisher in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Since then, Iara has worked as a translator for various publishers in Brazil and abroad. She loves working from home and learning about many different subjects.

Agriculture
Iara likes agronomy and she really enjoyed translating a book on soil science. During this project she learned a lot about soils in general. Iara has a degree in biology, and she finds agronomy in particular very interesting.
Science
Iara is a biologist and she is very interested in genetics, mainly molecular genetics. Iara has also translated books about the environment and safety in relation to pesticides.
Food
Iara appreciates good wine, and she is very interested in its history, manufacturing and wineries regions. She has delivered one translation project about wine and she did so with great pleasure.
