Working for WriterAccess allows you a liberated work schedule and access to a range of stimulating projects aligned with your interests and expertise. There’s a content marketing revolution underway, and we’re always looking to add new talent to our team. However, certain key qualities are required to succeed and thrive in the freelance writing realm.
Do you have what it takes to be a part of the content marketing revolution? We’ve found that the most successful writers share some specific qualities. If you’re interested in becoming a part of our winning team, you should be strong in the following three areas:
1. Work Experience
For starters, we’re looking for writers with a solid, stable work history and a track record as a reliable employee. Your past work experience does not necessarily have to be writing-oriented; in fact, many of our top writers have worked in other fields before signing on with WriterAccess.
Because of this, many of our writers are experts in specific areas such as software, accounting, legal or lifestyle topics. This gives them the ability to write with authority in these areas. Regardless of your area of expertise, we favor writers that did well in past careers and received positive feedback from both managers and colleagues.
2. Online Buzz
One of the next things we look for is a scintillating, active online presence. Do you have a dynamic, visible, well-trafficked website or blog that showcases your talents? How is your social media presence as a writer? Do you have a lot of Twitter or Facebook fans, followers, likes, shares and retweets?
If you write well, people will naturally respond to your work and want to follow you. They will seek you out to assist them with their business writing needs. Online activity like this is positive evidence of your success as a writer currently and going forward. Public interest in your online presence, social media accounts and services as a writer is a primary element that we’re looking for.
3. “Snap, Crackle and Pop”
This last one is a little hard to define, but we know it when we see it. “Snap, Crackle and Pop” refers to that special something, that secret sauce or added spice that helps to transport a project from ordinary to extraordinary.
It could be something in your portfolio that was particularly cool, or a certain piece that performed exceptionally well. It could also be an overall “vibe” or “edge” to your work or writing style that makes it unique and gets our attention. Are you putting your true voice, style and personality into your work in a way that sets it apart? If so, your work likely has that extra special something we’re looking for.
At WriterAccess, we’re always looking to add new talent to our pool of gifted writers. We’ve been a part of the content marketing revolution since the beginning, and we’re proud to say that we are now one of its leaders.
Do you think you have what it takes to succeed as a freelance writer? If you’re strong in the three areas discussed here, you just might be an ideal fit. We look forward to reviewing your application!
