Spencer has experience in lots of writing, with an emphasis on sports writing and reporting. He worked as a feature writer for the Utah Jazz during the 2013-14 NBA season, producing stories for the team's official website. He's also covered high school basketball and football in the Salt Lake area for the past four years as a freelance reporter for the Deseret News and KSL.

In addition, he worked for an SEO company as a content manager for 8 months. He was in charge of creating, editing, and publishing content intended for SEO purposes. He's currently employed as a content editor/creator for the Welfare Department of the LDS Church in Salt Lake City.

He also has experience doing news and opinion writing; in high school, he was the assistant editor-in-chief of his high school paper, The Lion's Roar. Spencer received a scholarship for journalism for Dixie State University and will be attending school there this Fall.

Spencer also maintains a fishing blog, where he documents his fishing adventures across the state of Utah.
