Mandy loves the outdoors and plays most sports, including tennis, golf and basketball. She is also deeply interested in yoga and meditation, which she was able to study under the Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh.
She enjoys sharing what she has learned on her travels, interviewing interesting personalities, and writing about women's roles in society. Her book, Woman Fully Alive, discusses various aspects of life from a woman's perspective, including money, sex, career and home-making.
Also, Mandy's father is a psychiatrist so she has knowledge of the medical industry and mental health issues.
Mandy studied journalism and advertising at the renowned E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University from 1996-2000. She excelled in grammar and worked as a teaching assistant for a Precision Grammar course her junior year.
She received several honors, including a full, academic scholarship and was nationally selected as the Pen Tudor intern at Adweek Magazine.
Mandy received a Master in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2005. The degree had four areas of concentration: Christian theology, Biblical studies, Christian history and practical theology. While studying at PTS, Mandy developed her writing and critical thinking skills.
