Kay's specialties include non-fiction, informative and educational pieces. Although APA format has been the main writing style through college, she is open to other styles and formats in writing. Her nursing experience includes inpatient and outpatient, home care, critical care, post-surgical care, pre-surgical care, wound care, intravenous therapy, ambulatory care, medical/surgical care, and progressive and step-down care. With almost 7 years of experience in multiple areas of Nursing, Kay has a lot to offer in terms of nursing experience, education, adaptability and versatility.
Kay's interests include mental health, geriatrics, relationships and couples, health and exercise, vitamins and supplements, medical transcription, psychology and sociology, science, medicine, vitamins and supplements, nursing, critical care, food, music, current events, social media, digital marketing and business. In terms of interests and especially with my career being nursing she can incorporate her interests, exploring many different avenues as it relates to nursing.
Kay has almost 7 years in the medical industry as a registered nurse with experiences in many different specialties, subspecialties in a number of environments. The clinical aspect of nursing fascinates Kay as medicine is not a one size fits all and realistically an individual would never experience all there is to experience in a lifetime. Kay loves how topics on medicine can range as well and there is always something to learn. The things Kay has seen as a bedside registered nurse, the training she has received and the experiences she has experienced are as unique as she is in terms of her creativity and flow.
Healthcare is an industry that is complex, unjust and unfair at times, but the experiences Kay has experienced has shaped her into the type of nurse and into the type of content writer she is today. Kay's experience comes from the experiences of others, her wanting to be their voice when they feel like they don't have a voice. Kay's experiences come from nursing, and the variety of areas to explore in nursing.
The past year Kay has had to present, edit, and add to multiple presentations on topics in nursing. Kay has written many papers, PowerPoint presentations, posters, graphs, and genograms. To complete my Bachelor's degree many different presentations were submitted on numerous topics and none were to our choosing. The topics Kay was given were not to her choosing, and there were solo projects and group projects in the works.
