Since he spends a good deal of time on the water (see Interests), a considerable amount of Joseph's photography, video and writing is on maritime subjects. With the newspaper and online experience, however, he has spent a good deal of time on a wide variety of subjects ranging from military bands to Black Friday shoppers or whatever else his editor decided to aim him at.
In addition to writing, photography, video and art, Joseph is also a captain in the Merchant Marine and, as such, spends a good deal of time not just on his own (motley) fleet, but driving a variety of boats, large and small, for a variety of employers. In addition to supplying a useful income, this also is a source of inspiration for stories, photos and videos.
