Kate M. holds a minor in Journalism from North Carolina State University.

She has written for several digital media publications. As one of the founding writers of N.C. State's chapter of Spoon University, a food and wellness online magazine, she has experience covering food policy, nutrition, and health. She has also written for The Tempest, a women-centered magazine, and Study Breaks Magazine.

Kate is also experienced in writing press releases. As an intern for the Boards and Commissions Department of the North Carolina Governor's Office, she was responsible for drafting press releases highlighting appointees to state boards and commissions. She has also volunteered with nonprofit organizations like the Dream Project, which provides support services to immigrants in Virginia, to write press releases regarding services.
