Sam's specialties include his considerable travel writing which was built over his almost two continuous years of non-stop world-travel to many exotic locations. During this time he would make every effort to experience life as a local, for example staying at a Riad in the Medina of Marrakesh. He also took advantage of experiencing exclusive lifestyles while on the canals of Venice or the world class resorts in Kruger National Park, South Africa.

Sam is an avid skier, both downhill and cross-country. Keeping active in the winter has never been much trouble for him, growing up and continuing to play ice hockey in his adult life.
In the summer, you can find him riding a bicycle through the Loire Valley in France, along the C&O towpath from Washington D.C to Pittsburgh, PA or right from his front door in Santa Monica, CA through the U.S. and into Vancouver, Canada.
