I take difficult concepts and making them understandable for the public. I enjoy a broad range of topics from scientific and political to academic and literary. I love language and enjoy finding just the right way to phrase or express an idea.
I enjoy authoring science fiction, composing and recording music, reading a great novel, and watching action movies and tv shows. Person of Interest, Babylon 5, Pride and Prejudice (the long version), and Stargate SG-1 are particular favorites. And then there's our new Husky puppy and our five wonderful cats that help to keep me busy.
And though I have an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts, I spent eight years (!!!) in college trying to figure out what I wanted to specialize in—music composition, engineering, Russian, political science, and English. I even volunteered to work on the editorial board of the university's science fiction & fantasy magazine for four (4) semesters.
ACTIVE VOICE: Stan sat with the handheld computer unit and navigated the entire file system to document it because Microsoft did not provide a manual for the mobile operating system used by the product.
He also updated approximately 110 manuals, including six (6) to seven (7) new product manuals, each year for MTD's gas-powered lawn and garden tools. If you bought a gas-powered line trimmer in the late 2000s, you probably have one of his manuals.
As a Technical Writer, Stan worked for STARA Technologies and wrote user manuals and work instructions for electronic surveillance trailers for border security. The trailers combined video, infrared, and radar systems into an onboard computer control station for realtime surveillance of border incursions.
Stan has created marketing materials for cosmetic dentistry, cash cards, and others. Since they say a picture is worth a thousand words, please check out his online portfolio at:
