Raised by an English professor, among the works of Shakespeare and Milton, Emma discovered her passion for the written word at a young age. She was an active member of multiple creative writing clubs in school, and went on to graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with her Bachelor's in English. Since graduating in 2013, she worked as a bartender until she found a career in a nonprofit committed to teaching social and emotional intelligence. She used her writing skills to become a principal member of the marketing team, creating the content for internal and external communications such as email campaigns, promotional materials, and white paper. She's been praised for her ability to communicate ideas effectively using a sharp and witty writing style.
