While a student at Pepperdine University, Brooke studied creative writing, as well as studio art and multimedia design. She studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she worked for a jewelry designer as a marketing intern, and Shanghai, China, where she was an independent contractor writing for Shanghai Disneyland Imagineering.
Brooke began her publishing career as a continuity editor on the Kingdom Keepers series, working her way up to writing part of the novella in the series; The Syndrome.
