Specialties

Christy specializes in writing prospect and client-facing emails, social posts, blog posts, sales collateral, digital ads, print ads, direct mail, print and e-newsletters, events collateral, interactive marketing quizzes, multimedia scripts, and video storyboards.

Interests

Christy is qualified to write in a variety of industries because she excels at getting to know the audience she's tasked with reaching. She is experienced in using customer and prospect data to inform her customer journeys, content maps, topics, and messages, which ultimately leads to engagements and conversions.

Most of Christy's experience is in the insurance and financial industry, where she excels at turning complex topics into easily-digestible and understandable information. Don't let the insurance and financial services industry throw you off. She spends most of her time writing for audiences made up of people with kids, without kids, who are married, who are not married, and who are fresh out of college. So when it comes to writing about retirement, for instance, Christy is able to shift that message depending on the audience she's writing for, to ensure she's driving consumer action.

Outside of writing, Christy enjoys spending time with her two boys and firefighter husband. Naturally, this makes her well-versed in how to get marker stains out of sofas, what not to say to a 6-year-old in front of his friends, and how to shoot a pea out of a baby's nostril (luckily, this one's not from experience). Not to mention, she kills it on a Razor scooter.

Education

Illinois State University

Christy earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Illinois State University. During undergrad, she wrote for the school's newspaper, anchored the TV and radio stations, was an active Student Illinois Broadcasters Association member and scholarship award winner, and served as the president of the Student Association for Women in Communications. Christy was also the president and captain of the Illinois State University women's rugby team.
