While serving in the U.S. Navy, Steve took real estate courses through the USAFI program. Upon discharge in 1964 he attended the University of Florida for two semesters then entered the real estate industry. Later, beginning in 2002 he became a Certified Residential Appraiser.

He began his writing career in the early nineties. He wrote environmental, outdoors and conservation commentaries for three local weekly papers with distribution in central Florida. Steve then became the outdoors columnist for the Lake/Sumter regional segment of the Orlando Sentinel. Also, he free-lanced articles to most of the outdoor sports magazines east of the Mississippi from Florida Sportsman to Saltwater Sportsman for six years. 1993 to 1999.

During this period he won six annual awards for both his articles and photography from his peers in the Florida Outdoor Writer’s Association. In 2013 he self-published a short story collection of historic Florida humor titled The Rednak Chronicles. In 2015 he completed the action novel Fish Daze. In August of 2018, he completed the action-mystery La Vida Libre that takes place in 1980s Cuba. He has blogged political satire and commentary since 2013.
He presently blogs weekly. Steve offers political commentary on both national and Florida issues. Monthly read totals in 2019 are 5,000-7200.
He also blogs about the Cannabidiol (CBD) phenomenon. He has helped businesses with their marketing advertising, content, and written copy for various websites ranging from auto sales, travel to Costa Rica, and employment counseling.

Steve became a Broker in 1961. He worked in residential and progressed to acreage and subdivision sales. In 1999 he became a Certified Residential Appraiser.

During the mid-nineties, Steve was the outdoors columnist for the Lake Region section of the Orlando Sentinel. Freelancing, he wrote articles for outdoors & fishing magazines and won awards from the Florida Outdoor Writers Association.
