Marcie Geffner is an award-winning reporter, writer and editor in Ventura, Calif.
In the last decade alone, Marcie has written more than one thousand published stories about real estate, commercial property, banking, credit cards, computer security, health insurance, economics and small business, among many other subjects. Previously, Marcie was senior editor of California Real Estate magazine, published by the California Association of Realtors, and later managing editor of Inman News, an independent real estate news website. She also has prior employment experience in technical writing and corporate communications at Tekelec, Inc., a telecommunications test systems company, and employee communications at California Federal Bank.
Marcie earned a bachelor’s degree in English with high honors at UCLA and master’s degree in business administration (M.B.A.) at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. At UCLA, she became a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
In 2015, Marcie relocated from Los Angeles, her native hometown, to Ventura, California, a beach city between Malibu and Santa Barbara, where she owns a split-level hillside house. When she's not working, Marcie enjoys visiting her family and friends in Los Angeles, reading, watching Oscar-nominated movies and writing not-yet-published novels.
