"As much as Deba loves thinking about science," she realized, "she don't actually like doing it." So Deba set out to find a way to use her science skills outside research. As she inventoried her skills, she realized that she really enjoyed writing.
Deba developed depth of knowledge of the theories and practices used in the instructional sciences and the competencies to conduct, report, and interpret research. Through practical and research-oriented projects and experiences and an active residency program, she developed into being a scholar who can conduct, publish, and consume research in a variety of instructional and professional settings.
Deba developed medical copy for brochures, articles, powerpoints, video scripts, leave behinds, annotated guides, index card guides, print/elearning, gap analysis, conference panels, workshops, case studies, outlines, question development, webinars, emagazines and other materials as needed. She developed beginner and intermediate level education for managed care sales representatives and provided informational presentations for examining limitations in current managed care for managed care directors.
Deba developed and wrote medical content for elearning and print modules. Her development included writing storyboards, audio transcripts, and onscreen content. In addition, she suggested and refined graphics for print and elearning modules. Majorly, she monitored voice over recordings for accuracy and pronunciation. Lastly, she provided revisions in all stages of client review.
Deba was a senior English professor for over six years. During this time, she taught English 101, 102, business communications, and technical writing. Deba developed lesson plans, tests, quizzes, and reading assignments and encouraged active group discussions in a classroom environment. Similarly, she worked as a research scientist to validate laboratory management system (LMS) and develop screen information captures for hematology needs.
Deba has been involved in developing and teaching content in a number of courses specific to laboratory science, biology, and chemistry, all of which were broadcast to multiple sites. As such, she has been able to utilize foundational principles of laboratory procedures to address and refine for unique needs of animal population.
Deba developed various content presentations and speaker notes for managed care directors for education, market testing, and decision-making purposes. Specifically, she developed annotated highlights to encourage salesperson education. She worked with art and production department to suggest and revise graphics, edit multiple types of copy both internally and from companies based in Canada.
Deba is honest and direct in all her communications, is well-organized, and has excellent process improvement skills. She cares a great deal about every project she handles and seeks to ensure that every project is of high quality, no matter how large or small. Her scientific background combined with her advanced degrees in medical writing and instructional design makes her excellent.
