While interested in pursuing journalism after graduation, Toni minored in public relations. During her time at Kutztown, she wrote for the school newspaper, participated in the public relations club and also wrote for a start-up weekly paper, The Weekender. She wrote several articles for that publication, including an interview with Kevin Bacon for his band, The Bacon Brothers.
Toni wrote for a daily deals website for nearly four years. During that time, she wrote creative content for consumer goods and services. Copy included bullet points as well as a more in-depth sales paragraph. For two of those years, she exclusively wrote copy for products being sold nationwide.
As a contract employee for Rodale Inc., Toni wrote dozens of product descriptions for their online store. Each product was sustainable, environmentally friendly and/or organic, and ranged in industry type from beauty and fashion to home goods and cooking.
As a contract writer for Rodale Inc., Toni wrote several blog posts on living a green and sustainable lifestyle. Her work varied from bullet posts to in-depth articles on topics of health, cooking, and gifting.
For three years, Toni worked as the sole reporter for a local newspaper. Assignments ranged from government meetings and breaking news to community features. Additionally, she freelanced prior to and after her time at the paper for other publications, reporting on sports, music and local happenings.
In her past three positions, Toni wrote blog posts as part of her daily duty. At two of those companies, she used the corporate Wordpress platform. Her posts range from casual to formal and informative to opinionated.
