Nicole received an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Spanish from Illinois State University. Her writing experience in college includes writing a sociological dissertation and a modern literature analysis in Spanish. Nicole took one year off of school to bartend and waitress. During this time off, she discovered her interest in reading and writing. Nicole wanted to further her education to become a better reader and writer. She went to law school and received her juris doctorate degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. There, she excelled in her first semester of legal writing. She was asked to assist a professor in teaching legal writing to other students. Additionally, she had an article published in an Illinois Family Law newsletter. Finally, she wrote an appellate brief for a national competition that won third place out of twenty-six teams.
