As a liberal arts major at New York University, he enjoyed frequent opportunities to demonstrate and hone his writing skills. Through both reading fiction and non-fiction, academic books and novels, as well as his own papers of varying lengths and content, he continually acquired a sense of what constitutes effective writing. Multiple professors encouraged him that his writing skill was a step above his peers, encouraged him to continue pursuing writing excellence; their feedback also laid the groundwork for his further improvement and refinement. The concept of writing concisely, maximum substance without extraneous or superfluous verbiage, intrigued him and he made it his personal and enduring goal. He has since utilized these skills and principles in his recent time teaching English overseas at university, developing his own curriculum for classroom teaching: oral and communicative English, writing and academic English, media and current affairs. He also had to compose biannual lectures for delivery to hundreds of students and faculty. These opportunities motivated him more than ever to maximize the power and impact of his speaking by first putting it into written form. His goals aren't yet reached, as his journey to master the written word continues, and he's optimistic this opportunity can assist him in that ongoing endeavor.
