Karey is a writer and poet based in Dorchester, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of the MFA program at UMass (Boston) where she won an Academy of American Poets prize. Karey received a scholarship to attend the New York Summer Writers Institute, and has also attended the Bread Loaf Writers Conference and the Tin House Writers Workshop. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. In her spare time, she enjoys genealogy research, volunteering as an indexer, and winning at fantasy football. Originally from New Jersey, Karen is currently a reader for Spry Literary Journal.
