Shannon's first word was "writer". Well, not really, but she has been an avid reader and writer for as long as she can remember, dating back to the early 90's when she donated her handwritten (and crayon illustrated!) books to the local library.

After launching a successful school newsletter in junior high, she went on to serve as Chief Editor of both her high school and college newspapers. During her undergraduate studies, Shannon excelled in communications courses, and was named the Dean's Senior of the Year. She held many internships to help develop her writing chops, including in sports and healthcare.

As a professional, Shannon has served in a communications capacity full time for several organizations in sports, tourism, and technology. She started a blog dedicated to her love of nachos (yes, the food) to further expand her writing talents, contributes to a monthly neighborhood magazine, and is in the process of launching a women's lifestyle community.

In summer 2015, Shannon took an entry level Front End Web Development course, where she gained basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills, as well as some SEO and WordPress. She has used these skills to further her career as a writer and digital strategist, and looks forward to learning more.
