Kris M, was published at the age of 13 by the National Library of Poetry and continued to write for academic newspapers and literary anthologies throughout high school and college. She also created all marketing materials for a tattoo company opening in town when she was an undergraduate. She worked as a reporter for 2 popular newspapers for several years before leaving to obtain her Master's Degree in Secondary Education with English teaching certification for grades 7 through 12. She taught literature and writing for students in grades 7, 10 and 11 before moving to higher education where she teaches all of the writing courses and runs the Writing Center for Fortis Institute. She has also taught freshman composition courses for the University of Scranton. Additionally, she has worked as a consultant for Elsevier editing textbooks. She has presented her research in a variety of venues and published the accompanying papers. Currently she is creating an open-source MOOC on APA Style and Scholarly Writing for Drexel University students and has also edited a published fiction novel. She received her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Management in Higher Education from Drexel University in 2017.
