John has spent most of his career in construction, from residential to industrial. In 1988, he graduated the Colorado JATC as a Journeyman Millwright receiving a Gold Hammer for achieving above a 95% GPA, then working in the trade as a journeyman, foreman, general foreman, superintendent, and apprenticeship instructor. The ability to translate blueprints into a finished structure or product both as a working hand and through managing the work of other journeymen and apprentices, helping them bring out their best, has brought some of his greatest satisfaction in life.
When he became a Christian, he had to know what it meant! He saw so much factionalism and disagreement between churches of the same denomination as well as different denominations, he thought it absolutely necessary to try to see why they believed what they believed. Thus began his twenty plus year search getting to know Who he worshiped and how He expects him to do so. This has been at least as rewarding as the best moments of his construction career. The summation of that quest is this: to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God. Easy to say. Not so easy to do!
