Aidan is a graduate of Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland, where he studied journalism. Subjects included use of language, news writing,feature writing,contemporary studies,radio,law, shorthand and typing.

Aidan was sports editor of The Dublin People newspaper in Dublin, Ireland for two years (2000-2002). He also wrote a regular soccer column for The Evening News & Tribune (Southern Indiana) from 2007 to 2013, and contributed to Vype High School sports magazine (Louisville, Kentucky) from 2008 to 2014.
Aidan has edited two local history books: 'Finglas - A Celebration' and 'The Silver Lining - a history of Kildonan Aerodrome.'
