Emily studied an English degree concentrating in literature and writing, and moved her concentration solely to writing in the second half of her college career. She took high level classes on research, creative nonfiction, life and memoir writing, creative writing, poetry, Christian classics, and publications.
Emily has written newsletters for rescue homes for women caught in human trafficking. For two summers, she wrote update articles and informational blasts weekly to update donors and supporters on the ministry.
Emily started blogging leisurely as a high school student, writing inspirational and spiritual blog posts. As she moved into college and foreign travel, Emily used her blog for travel purposes and travel review. In her last years at college and after graduating, she used her blog to write short and inspirational devotions.
Emily worked in the Public Relations department at North Greenville University and managed social media accounts with daily tweets on Twitter and occasional Facebook posts. In this position for three years, developing tweets that are short and to the point but still eye catching became her main role in this position as a student worker.
During two internships, Emily wrote newsletters and articles for a nonprofit in Cambodia and one in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, she wrote articles for several North Greenville University magazines and newsletters for organizations through the Public Relations office.
