Matthew has been writing his entire life. Majoring in English and Spanish in undergrad, he sought out writing-intensive classes, and never slowed down. His last semester required a health waver in order to take so many classes at once. He took enough Honors classes to minor in Honors studies, though already had a double major. To graduate in the Honors college, he researched and wrote his thesis, Trends in Gender and Sexuality in Contemporary Children's Fairy Tales, which is archived at his university.

After a semester of grad school, he began writing for the Austin Chronicle as an Intern. He's still doing that, and looks forward to a career in writing.
