Elizabeth's main focus was Women's Health articles. She had to make sure that there were proper links being used to support the information. One thing about health articles, you want it to be informative without loosing the reader. She had to maintain a light, and conversational tone throughout the articles while also being informative and making sure the reader was enjoying the read while also walking away with something useful.
Fact checking was a very important part in editing most of the political pieces. Important to be mindful of the order of information and the way it was written, making sure the reader was getting the most important information first. Edited to keep the pieces informative while also making it a digestible and readable piece.
Edited quizzes for my most recent job. Topics varied from movies, state facts and food. Edited for grammar and punctuation. Fact checked making sure dates, landmarks and names were correct.
She focused on getting as much information into one post that would be eye grabbing amongst another posts. Using proper hashtags and punctuations in a Twitter post was very important as well.
Correct use of AP style format. Copy editing for grammar, punctuation or any GFE's (gross factual errors). Always maintaining the writers voice and or style while making sure the article made sense and was readable for the audience.
Made sure articles had a good flow.
She primarily worked on Facebook posts linking out to an article, but it was important to draw in the audience with one or two sentences. Making a quick summary of the story without giving away too much so that the reader still wants to click on the link and read the rest of the story.
Blogs have a different tone than articles or essays, they are a lot more conversational and the style can depend on the brand or person it is run by. It was very important to keep the brand and or person in mind when editing the blog posts so that it can be uniformed with the rest of the website.
