Hillary A is a New Orleans based designer. She has a Master's Degree in Film and Television Production from the University of Bristol in Bristol, UK and a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre with a Minor in English Comparative Literary Studies from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. She has experience in set and costume design and graphic design. She is proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, HTML, CSS and Javascript.
She has worked as the Production Designer on award winning films such as Don't Come Around Here from Running Wild Films which won Best Mississippi Feature at The 2017 Oxford Film Festival in Oxford, MS and Wings which won Best Cinematography at the 2018 New Orleans Film Festival. Additionally, she worked as the Production Designer on the Bobcat Boys from Abby Normal Pictures, Production Designer/Set Decorator on several short films and music videos, Assistant Decorator/Set Dec Assistant on Lost in Time from Big Easy Pictures, and Art Assistant on The Magnificent Seven from M7 Productions and on a commercial with Countertake Productions.
She has designed and created prop posters, labels and certificates with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to add an additional layer to the story of the film she was working on at a given time. These prop graphics were filled with names of imaginary people and companies such as Firebird Whiskey which was featured in Don’t Come Around Here, Darkside Productions which was featured on a fake movie poster that she made for The Bobcat Boys, and the business card of Dr. Benjamin Davis M.D. that was part of the set dressing for the short film, Into the Light. She has designed advertisements for local businesses such as a magazine spread and a flyer for a local neighborhood grocery store.
