The Bachelor of Arts in Art & Design: Games & Playable Media (AGPM) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program in the Arts Division at UCSC. The program is closely affiliated with the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science: Computer Game Design in the School of Engineering.
Students in both programs work together throughout their studies at UCSC, from foundation courses to a year-long capstone sequence that results in team creation of a releasable game. Students in AGPM obtain a degree focused on the design of game systems and other interactive experiences, including their connection to a wider arts context — with a full grounding in the fundamentals of artistic practice and expressive game development.
Studied abroad and learned about Dutch art and design.
Worked with various organizations to create graphics for merchandise and marketing materials. Redesigned logos and infographics for informational materials. Created basic animations as well as various web banners.
Undergraduate degree was focused on game design. Created various digital games and won Design Innovation Award for capstone project which as a hybrid tabletop/mobile app game. Also has worked for multiple tech summer camps teaching kids principles of game design and basic coding.
Worked with podcasting social media start up where I participated in conversations regarding app development and user experience, created graphics to be used as marketing materials and assisted with creation of the style guide to establish brand identity.
Created multiple portraits of people. As well uses digital illustration as a basis for most designs.
Created promotional websites as well as portfolio websites for other artists.
Worked with a California university's orientation office to create infographics for students regarding advising information and other college tips and tricks.
