Writer Spotlight: Tracy S

Tracy SThis week, meet writer Tracy S from Dallas, GA.  Check out our blog every Wednesday for a new interview with our super talented and always interesting WriterAccess writers!

If you had a catchphrase, what would it be?

“Awesome!” — I guess it’s from being an 80’s kid, but I WAY overuse the word awesome.

What’s your day job super power?

Making roofing fun! Home improvement and construction are my favorite topics–I enjoy taking a relatively dry topic and creating content that is both effective and enjoyable to read.

Best advice you’ve ever received?

It’s pretty cliche, but once I actually listened, “be yourself” really shaped my life. I spent too long trying to be someone else–until I discovered that it is much easier to be me.

Favorite hat?

My “cat hat” with ears is warm and fun to wear.

If there was a movie based on your life, what actor/actress would play you?

Julia Louis-Dreyfus — I think she could handle the nuttiness of my life pretty well.

What would the title of the movie be?

Madre de un Gato Tuerto (My life is too quirky for a “regular” movie–I need to go for an offbeat foreign film.)

Favorite thing about WA?

The ability to connect with hundreds of different clients on one simple platform is amazing.

Briefly, what do you do all day?

There is less writing than you would think; my day consists of about 50 percent research, 25 percent writing and 25 percent proofreading/editing.

Favorite writer, dead or alive?

Marion Zimmer Bradley — She was my introduction to Fantasy and Science Fiction.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Reality TV — I’m a Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother addict.

Favorite breakfast food?

A smoothie is filling, well balanced and quick!

Little known fact about you?

Though I grew up and now live in the Atlanta suburbs, I spent two years as a young adult living in a VERY rural area of Nebraska. It was a big eye-opener.

What can’t you live without?

Coffee – It’s magically delicious!
