Whether it's copywriting or creative fiction, Sloane has a little bit of everything in her portfolio. Regular clients request articles about education, current events, addiction/alcoholism, the recovery process, DIY crafting, product descriptions, reviews, and press releases.
Known for her ability to produce quality content in a timely fashion, she performs well under pressure and is often available on short notice. Not satisfied with meeting the expectations of her clients, she aims to exceed them.
Despite a heavy workload, she carves out time for personal writing endeavors. Her current projects include maintaining a blog and working on a collection of autobiographical short stories.
Sloane's passions include homelessness, mental health, volunteering, and issues pertaining to substance abuse. Priding herself on her resilience and tenacity, she overcame addiction and clawed her way out of the trenches. Drawing on her lived experience gives her a unique advantage to assist others who are struggling.
Flying by the seat of her pants and always feeling somewhat dysfunctional comprise her reality. Being a single mother of a 15-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter who constantly fights to manage her mental illness means there is never a dull moment.
Her nose stays in a book. During what little free time she has, she cherishes being with her family, cooking, traveling, thrifting, and consuming copious amounts of cheese. The main goal of her existence is to leave this world a better place than it was when she found it.
Graduated with dual concentrations in English and political science, she wrote her senior thesis on the feminist voices found within the poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks and Sylvia Plath.
Sloane accepted a ghostwriting assignment for a family and lifestyle website. The founder was so impressed with her work, the one-time gig turned into a regular partnership. She composed several dozen articles for the client, eventually earning her byline as a guest blogger.
Most of her pieces involved DIY projects, fun and educational activities to do with the kids, repurposing items for home decor, and family-friendly events.
Sloane served as the Social Media Coordinator for two of her companies. The first was an upscale footwear boutique with a bare-bones Facebook page. She revamped their Facebook page, boosted engagement, and established an Instagram account. Being social media savvy helped her create an entire strategy for her job at a nonprofit. Worth noting is the fact that she was a sales associate and a project coordinator, respectively. Social media was not her primary job description, yet her skills proved invaluable.
