Saul specializes in writing scripts for all types of video projects.
Scripts can be developed based on an approved conceptual direction or he can create one or more original concepts, which can then become scripts. Either way, a creative brief is typically all that's required to initiate a project.
Saul is well-versed in writing everything from 15-second teasers to long-form deliverables with multiple chapters, and his experience includes broadcast TV, online ads, website videos, explainer videos, training videos, and more.
Saul especially enjoys developing explainer videos. He appreciates the challenge behind taking a complex idea and distilling it down to a simple, engaging, and conversational story.
Along with his full-time gig as VP of Brand for a healthcare startup,
Saul and his wife also run an art-based business out of the custom home they built in 2017. Located next to downtown Dallas, it includes three rentable art studios on the first floor and their residence on the second floor.
Although Saul majored in Graphic Design while attending TCU, it was here that he also realized he was interested in writing copy. He incorporated his own copy into all of his projects and, upon graduating and landing his first job, he continued developing this skill. To this day, Saul has worked as a designer and a writer at every job he’s had. He’s also led teams of creative professionals for most of his career.
Interested in pursuing a career as a full-time university professor, Saul needed a Masters’ degree to do so. Although his plans changed over time, Saul has enjoyed appointments as adjunct professor for Southern Methodist University and the Texas A&M University/Commerce Dallas Campus. Classes have included Introduction to Branding, Introduction to Art Direction, and Senior Portfolio.
Saul’s copywriting experience for healthcare has included video scripts, as well as other marketing communications. Clients have included smaller consumer brands such as Fibromyalgia & Fatigue Centers, ADD Wellness Centers, and The Poison Experts. Work for hospitals and systems has included Parkland Hospital in Dallas and Baylor Scott & White Health. Saul has also developed employee wellness communications for HP, Raytheon, and Disney, as well as B-to-B communications in the healthcare industry for AT&T Business.
Including video scripts and other marketing communications, Saul developed projects for Hilton Worldwide (now known as Hilton) for ten years. At the time, this included twelve different hotel brands such as Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Hampton Inn & Suites, Waldorf Astoria, Doubletree, and Canopy by Hilton. Initiatives were either national or global in scope.
Saul worked as Senior Lead/Creative Direction at AT&T for five years, where he developed video scripts and other written communications. This included work for AT&T Mexico, AT&T Foundry global innovation centers, AT&T Business, AT&T Cybersecurity, the broadband network for first responders called FirstNet, the AT&T Brand Team, and AT&T Leader Lab.
For seven years, Saul worked with the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas. Projects included scripts for TV commercials and videos, as well as other communications. Much of this work was focused on NTFB’s annual fundraising and awareness campaign, which included advertising for TV, radio, billboards, transit, theater screens, online ads, and the NTFB website.
While working at a Dallas-based agency, Saul developed HR initiatives for employees at Hilton Worldwide, HP, Disney, 7-Eleven, Raytheon, and regional grocery store brand H-E-B. At AT&T, he worked on Equality First. This was an HR-led, $5M initiative targeting 230K employees and intended to create awareness for equality through an app, a podcast, a docuseries, and more. Most recently, Saul led a creative team for Cariloop. This startup delivers a caregiver support benefit to employees and Saul supported its sales team through various initiatives targeting HR leaders.
While working for Dallas-based agency RSW, Saul developed most of its new business and social efforts. This included scripts for explainer videos, as well as other written communications such as multiple blog posts, a newsletter, new business presentations, requests for proposals, and more. In addition to leading creative teams and developing copy, Saul has also been a designer throughout his career and understands how to craft compelling stories about this topic.
Including video scripts and other communications, Saul’s experience with training has included a variety of initiatives. Projects for national and global brands have included 7-Eleven, AT&T, Hilton Worldwide, HP, and Barclays. For AT&T, training initiatives included brand guidelines for AT&T Business, AT&T Cybersecurity, and FirstNet, the network built for first responders.
Saul has developed video scripts for a variety of audiences, including consumers, businesses, employees, and donors. He’s also written branding and marketing copy for Disney, 7-Eleven, AT&T, HP, Hilton, Ferrari, Allstate, The City of New York, Comedy Central, and IBM, among others. Communication channels for video have included broadcast TV, theater advertising, online advertising, websites, new business presentations, digital signage, and more.
