Paul has over 20 years of combined professional and educational experience, during which he has served various roles, mainly in business building, angel investment startups, asset management and financial services software. Throughout this time, Paul has focused on two important aspects: strategic development and management.
From a strategy management perspective, he has written blogs covering a myriad of topics, from financial services concepts — such as the future block chains in investment products — to successfully marketing a product or business based on the power of storytelling.
In forging strategy, Paul has developed and written business plans, white papers, proposals, and marketing presentations.
During his career, Paul attained an Executive MBA from Loyola University Maryland, with a focus on strategic management. Through this endeavor he was able to fine-tune his business acumen and writing skills, the latter becoming an additional (and sometimes louder) tool for sharing his perspectives across a variety of topics and industries.
One of Paul’s professional roles involves meeting with executives, often C-suites. These interactions clearly inform his writing style and his depth of insight on the wide variety of topics he covers.

Paul’s specialties are varied, but he does have preferred topics and formats. Marketing strategy and management, especially pertaining to the adoption of digital distribution, is an area about which he feels strongly, and he has worked with some talented marketers who helped educate him and inspire his writings on this subject.
His experience in developing business plans and proposals helps explain Paul’s interest in generating value propositions that would benefit any startup looking to hone its vision or mission statement, or simply looking to define core competencies the company wants to represent. For established companies, he can help clearly define why a product or service is a need, rather than a want.
Paul’s experience in financial services, specifically asset management and institutional banking, provides him with deep knowledge of a complex industry. Similarly, he has worked alongside numerous high-net-worth individuals through his involvement in establishing an angel investment firm, gaining substantial experience in the startup and VC space.
As for formats, his sweet-spots include articles, blogs, web content, and presentations.

Writing on topics that inspire him is and will always be one of Paul’s interests. He believes business writing can, in fact, be inspirational if it comes from a source of passion. That could come in the form of the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, or the ideation of a product or service that clearly fills a need.
Paul has always had an interest in sports and is a proud fan of all University of Maryland athletic teams and the Baltimore Ravens. He enjoys running and has completed several marathons.
