Freelance Writing and Career Advice
Words and wanderlust fuel my imagination is Lisa's mantra. Her interests are wide and varied from archeology to cooking to genealogical and historical research, and of course, reading whatever strikes her fancy, writing, and the experience of travel.
She is a TEFL-certified instructor who hopes to be heading to Spain soon for an advanced TEFL/TESOL degree along with intensive Spanish classes adding to her language skills of Czech and German. Though, admittedly, she understands both better than she can speak it.
Lisa has lived and traveled abroad extensively and enjoys immersing herself in new cultures. Like immersion into a culture, she will deep dive into any project to get at the heart of it so her client can put their best foot forward.
Projects number in the 100s after nearly 10 years of professional writing. However, after 15 years as an Executive Assistant, Fundraiser, and business owner, Lisa has business experience from the bottom up.
From her first job as a Receptionist to her current work as a small business owner, Lisa understands both the trials and tribulations SMMEs face, particularly in these days.
Lisa has worked in the nonprofit industry as an EA, Development Associate, Grant Coordinator, and Grantwriter. She has focused on Prospect Management and Grantwriting for the last two years before she struck out on her own ten years ago.
She has written individual solicitation letters, fundraising copy for marketing materials, and grants for nonprofits as diverse as the symphony to developmental disabilities.
Lisa has written 10 blog posts for two breeders in the last year.
Lisa has been writing blog posts both professionally and personally since 2009. Last year, she instituted a Book Review Week from her own blog.
Since June 2016, she has ghostwritten weekly blogs for a data and analytics tech recruitment firm and for a year and half wrote for both the US and the UK market. From 2016 to 2018, she worked directly with the Head of Marketing on Content Strategy as well.
Lisa has also written blog posts for the pet industry, high tech, industrial cables, automotive, consulting, psychotherapy, and education.
