Interests

In partnership with her love of writing, Kathy's favorite pasttime is reading. This, in turn, allows her to learn about topics with which she may otherwise have remained unfamiliar. Her love of animals led her to a career in dog training and to establish a pet sitting business. Kathy has worked in professional sports for almost 20 years and has an affinity for baseball.

Loyola University of Chicago

Kathy spent two and a half years as a student at Loyola University, studying communications with the intention of getting into broadcasting. She learned an unbelievable amount about writing, reporting, editing and journalism there. Reasons outside of academics led her to transfer in her junior year, but she left Loyola with a 3.8 GPA in their Honors Program.

Elizabethtown College

Kathy graduated with Honors in Communications at Elizabethtown and missed Magna Cum Laude by a few credits lost when she transferred schools her junior year. Editing, reporting and broadcasting were a big part of her college experience, but she began to focus on public relations during her senior year.

Animal Behavior College

Kathy turned her love of dogs into a part-time career by studying with ABC. It's given her so much insight to these wonderful creatures, and she embraces any chance she gest to share that knowledge with others, whether through training classes or articles.

Kathy has written press releases for various minor league baseball teams from 1994-2004. Topics covered marketing campaigns, promotional events and personnel and player changes. In 1994, she successfully focused on promoting a team fighting for media coverage in the Philadelphia-metropolitan area. The next several years offered Kathy opportunities to be creative in dealing with the press, promoting teams that dominated a smaller market. Her final years in minor league baseball brought her to a club struggling to find it's place with the local media in Los Angeles and San Diego.
