Most of her freelance work lately has consisted of blog and social media posts in the residential real estate, marketing, hospitality, and travel industries. However, she can also write and execute email newsletters. Holly also enjoys writing feature articles.
When not working, Holly spends time enjoying the outdoors. She especially enjoys kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, wildlife watching, amateur astronomy, and camping.
Holly earned a BS degree in communication. She has a minor in English.
Holly has worked in the publishing industry for several years. She has written freelance articles for the Sun-Sentinel and South Florida Bride. She then worked as an editor for an online magazine about the sales industry before being a freelance copyeditor for American Media Inc. and a discussion leader for a Gannet Co. forum.
Holly was also the editor and publisher of her own print magazine, EcoFlorida, for six years.
As editor and publisher of EcoFlorida magazine, Holly produced a quarterly print publication about Florida nature travel and environment. She also created and maintained the publication's website before CMS was a thing. This led to writing the book "30 Eco-Trips in Florida: The Best Nature Excursions (and How to Leave Only Your Footprints)," which was published by a university press. She now has a family adventure travel blog at https://thepack.life.
In addition to her own travel writing projects, she has ghostwritten travel blog and social media posts for travel clients, like the example shown.
Holly loves writing about places, so in addition to writing about travel, she has also written place-related pieces for real estate and hospitality clients.
As a content editor/assistant manager at SIRS (now ProQuest), for four years Holly selected educational and research material that would be included in the digital children's product called Discoverer.
Holly also contributed to the National Wildlife Federation's Be Out There campaign ebook, "Cool Outdoor Ideas for Hot Summer Days."
She has written about educational activities families can do together in digital magazines available on her blog.
Using her background in freelance writing, Holly has ghostwritten dozens of blog and social media posts for clients. The majority of her work recently has been in travel, real estate, hospitality, and marketing.
Working with agencies, Holly has provided full months of social media posts for their clients in a range of industries. The posts have been intended for either Twitter or Facebook to increase engagement and drive website traffic.
For nonprofits and also her own blog, Holly has designed, written, and executed email newsletter campaigns in MailChimp. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Holly edits photos and can create simple graphics that accent the message of the email and the organization or brand.
