With 20 years in the field of counseling and consulting, her specialties include self-help, grief & loss, parenting, relationships, communication, aging, death & dying, LGBTQ+, child/adolescent development, health and wellness, mental health, and emotional health in the workplace.
As a learner, she has a lot of interests, including DE&I, nature, arts, culture, psychology, and philosophy.
Andrea received a Bachelors of Art in Visual Art, with a minor in Italian.
Andrea completed internships in a treatment setting serving people with substance use disorders and also in a school serving children with special needs.
Andrea has worked with children and families in her private practice, in outpatient counseling settings, and in schools. Andrea has also worked as a grant writer for a non-profit, helping to fund programs in the areas of technology, mental health and wellness, parenting, pregnancy prevention, youth development, mentoring, and suicide prevention.
As a therapist, counselor, and coach, Andrea is very familiar with a variety of self-help topics. These areas include: stress management, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, career transitions, aging, caregiving, disordered eating, substance use disorders, parenting, child development, and more.
Andrea has worked with couples and families both in private psychotherapy practice and in community health clinics. Andrea also completed 40 hours of Mediation training and several other continuing education trainings related to relationship development, conflict resolution, and the impacts of biologically-based challenges (ex. ADHD, Autism/Aspergers) on relationships.
Andrea was a grant writer for four years at a non-profit serving a predominantly Latinx population. Grant requests were in the areas of youth development, parent education, behavioral health, and new project implementation. These funded programs improved the lives of individuals and families and ensured that they reach their full potential.
