Teaching, writing for non-profits and Christian ministries. Writing for stage productions.
Cheryl attended the School of Writing (SOW) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) a worldwide, interdenominational missionary training and sending agency. This school was part of her training to be a writer. During the school, she was exposed to teachings and assignments from professional authors in many areas of writing including non-fiction, fiction, self-editing, article, and screenwriting all over a period of twelve weeks.
Cheryl wrote this article, "God's Glory in the Midst of Darkness" for publication with a Christian magazine. It was a freelance project.
As a volunteer journalist for YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Ships, Cheryl traveled to Papua New Guinea in the fall of 2017 to work with missionary teams as they served the local community and set up free medical clinics. She submitted the human interest stories she gleaned from these outreaches to YWAM Ships' main website. These stories serve as an information resource for medical professionals and other potential volunteers looking for a faith-based venue where they can use their skills to serve disadvantaged individuals.
