Cheryl has been writing and honing her skills for more than thirty years. Besides freelancing as a storyteller, she has worked with non-profit and religious organizations to help write and edit projects including promotional material in both pamphlet, article, and book form. These projects have included writing or co-authoring scripts for fundraising or ministry events. Besides creative writing and storytelling, her strengths lie in editing as well as teaching; She has led self-editing workshops on several occasions as well as mentoring less experienced writers. She is hardworking and detail oriented. This enables her to successfully proofread manuscripts for typos, incorrect or unnecessary punctuation, redundancy, and even rough sentence structure. She delights in taking a raw piece of writing and reworking and polishing it into a finely crafted body of text.

As a volunteer journalist for YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Ships, Cheryl traveled to Papua New Guinea in the fall of 2017 to work with missionary teams as they served the local community and set up free medical clinics. She submitted the human interest stories she gleaned from these outreaches to YWAM Ships' main website. These stories serve as an information resource for medical professionals and other potential volunteers looking for a faith-based venue where they can use their skills to serve disadvantaged individuals.
