Mary studied Spanish and is fairly fluent. This has enabled her to communicate with parents of students throughout the years. Mary's study of special education was the start of a career that continues to span over twenty-three years.
During this time, Mary learned strategies she could apply while teaching her many English learners in an urban setting.
While earning her masters degree, Mary delved into various leadership styles in education, as well as curriculum design. She also did an administrative internship which gave her added insight into an administrator's role in the public school setting.
