A concentration in Rhetoric and Public Culture enabled Wendy to explore how texts, images, and other media function as modes of action, with particular regard to those practices that organize public thought, identities and social relations. She has since intended to pursue a teaching and research career in higher education.
Importantly, Wendy's M.A. in Communications Studies comprised of conceptual, research, and practical approaches through use of technology. She is prepared to handle communication challenges in the current technological environment - including digital and mobile platforms.
When Wendy decided to leave academia, she knew she had something that the world needed. Wendy knew how to make words spark action. She knew how to design messaging that made people go, "Wow! I want to know more!" Wendy knew how to use words so that other people could get their ideas across in a way that excited, engaged, and motivated others.
Today, Wendy is focused on developing intensive sessions that educate, enlighten, and empower professionals to make their words matter. She designs workshops for people who pitch and present to critical audiences--like clients, potential investors, or target markets. Typically, she helps people in:
• Marketing and Advertising
• Entrepreneurial Development
• Professional Services and Organizations
Speech-writing and writing for professionals, entrepreneurs, and C-suite level clients (on five different continents) was one way that Wendy was able to use her powers for good. However, she soon learned that she could use her powers for better if she worked on showing others how to develop their own powers of persuasion.
Wendy took everything she knew about the storytelling, persuasive writing, audience psychology, and editing and created a method for punching out stellar copy (AKA messaging, words, emails, writing, etc.). People who need their words to engage and motivate critical audiences find it helpful. She educates people, and she does it in numerous different fields.
In 2014, Wendy started out as an independent speechwriter and writer for CEOs, entrepreneurs, and large organizations. This year, she has turned all her persuasive expertise into "The Mindful Copywriter Method," a web course that shows entrepreneurs, copy/content/PR writers how to slay. She also speaks and design workshops for professional organizations and groups that are looking for more tailored approaches.
