Shayda attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, between 2003 and 2005 where she received an undergraduate degree in Marketing. During that time, she waited tables to pay for her education and worked in various internships, including one for Nextel Corporation, which helped land her first job after college.
The marketing program at GMU taught specialized concepts and practices with an emphasis on market analysis and planning, research, consumer behavior, and advertising management. She was taught how to match market opportunities to an organization’s goals; understand consumer needs; and design, deliver and communicate the value of products and services in a dynamic, competitive environment.
Wrote blog posts and 500-word articles for a number of clients in the technology sector. Major topics of interest included: benefits of the cloud, big data, DevOps, and cybersecurity.
Wrote blog posts for clients in the federal technology, fintech, health IT, and marketing sectors. Edited blogs, published them in Wordpress, and promoted content via various social media channels.
