She majored in History and Communication Arts with a concentration in Radio/TV/Film. Worked part time for the Information Center Manager and also served as a notetaker for students with special needs. Interned at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library and Museum.
Lie holds a master's degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Rhetoric; focused on leadership, public policy argument, political communication and presidential rhetoric.
Lie is a freelance consultant providing editorial, research, and nonfiction writing services for businesses, authors, and scholars, with expertise in the humanities and social sciences and in public policy argument. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of rhetoric and American history, particularly in relation to the modern presidency, leadership, and public policy argument.
Lie is a published author and instructor of communication courses. She brings skills and experience that will help the Labor Department realize its mission and serve the people of Maine. has served as both executive staff and on the boards of numerous non-profits in Maine and beyond. She’s handled internal and external communication as well as managed finances and developed and implemented strategic plans. Lie has worked at the FDR and JFK presidential libraries and currently serves as the director of communication for a labor department.
Lie coordinated and managed association’s finances, member records, and social media and other communications functions on a contract basis. She transitioned membership functions to cloud technology. Worked closely with volunteers representing the museum and archival fields.
