Shannon spent most of her adult life teaching writing and research to college students. Therefore, it felt natural to undergo a career change and pursue writing professionally. It also helps that she has loved writing ever since she can remember. Each year, Shannon anticipated the Young Authors Conference in grade school and even dedicated one of her literary marvels to her mom for Mother's Day (it's a signed copy).
